Kids and haircuts

The kids got their haircut yesterday, and Emma went short! I think she looks really grown-up now.... and of course, Ben loves going to the haircut place, they treat him like a king! These kids are growing up so fast!

6 weeks old!

Wow, I can't believe its been 6 weeks... they have flown by in sort of a blur, we've been mostly in survival mode :) But in the midst of the exhaustion, we are enjoying every minute of our new life, even the hard ones! Three kids is definately a big adjustment, and we are just now getting back into some sort of routine... Katie is absolutely wonderful, and she has been our most mellow baby... she doesn't cry much, and is pretty happy...she's slowly learning to sleep more at night... we can get her to sleep about 11, she wakes up around 2:30, and then wakes up again at 5:30 or 6.. she LOVES her big brother and sister, and they can get her to smile more than Dave or I.. Emma is our little mommy, and loves to take care of her (sometimes too much)...the other day Dave was with all three kids (yes, by himself :)), and Katie was in her crib... she started crying and so he went to make a bottle... a few minutes later he heard her stop crying, and turned around and there stood Emma holding Katie! He asked her how she got Katie out of the crib, and she said she stood on top of the rocking horse and lifted her out!Ahhhh.... needless to say, we had to talk to her about safety :) Its been crazy, but wonderful, and here are a few pictures of Katie at 6 weeks!

Benjamin turns 3!

I can't believe that our little man is three years old! He is growing up so fast, and it has been very fun to see his personality coming out. He is our social guy.... loves to laugh and make people laugh, loves to dance and build things, loves to hug, loves to be silly, and just like any boy, he loves to get dirty :) He loves both his sisters, and we'll see how he does being the boy in the middle :) We love you Benny, Happy Birthday!

Ben wanted to make all his birthday stuff...he helped me make the cake and cupcakes....they had to be blue and green...his favorite colors

...and he made his own pizza! I think he did a pretty good job...maybe he'll be a chef??

SNOW!!!!

The other day it snowed most of the afternoon, and the kids got right out in it...they loved every minute of it, and by the next day, it was gone....but it was fun while it lasted :)

Happy New Year!

I don't have any pictures from New Years Eve, but we sure packed a lot in and had fun... even though we're paying for it now :) We helped out with the youth group all night party (i know, it sounds CRAZY with a little baby, but it was pretty fun)...Dave took Ben and Emma to a Winterhawks hockey game the first part of the night, and then Katie and I hung out at the church until about 3 in the morning watching the crazy teenagers play Wii, ping pong, air hockey, and lots of other games...what a way to ring in the New Year...hope everyone had a fun and safe night!

Katie is already changing and growing! The past couple weeks are a blur, we're pretty tired :) But we're enjoying the time having Dave home, and Katie is really a daddy's girl...Dave can always get her to sleep, and she loves to sleep on his chest... We're slowly adjusting to having three kids, its definately tiring, but fun!

It's a girl!!!

Katherine Elizabeth Hughes was born on Dec. 8th! She is absolutely beautiful and we've fallen in love already! Emma is so excited to have a sister, and Benjamin is coming around I think :) It was a whirlwind week, but I'm so thankful that everything went good! We're so thankful to my mom and Dave's parents for helping us so much....we couldn't have done it without you! We love you guys so much...and the kids had a blast hanging out with their grandparents! Here are just a few pictures of Katie... welcome to the world little one!

I didn't take a lot of pictures at Thanksgiving, but we did have a great time! Lots of good food, a fun time with Brian, Adam, Bridget and all the kiddos! I'll leave you with a couple pictures...hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

18 days and counting!!

Well, we are in the final countdown days until we meet baby #3! We are getting very excited, and I'm not comfortable any more at all so definately ready to have this baby! Dave has been getting a lot of stuff done around the house, which I LOVE :) He touched up paint, helped with the baby's room, rearranged furniture, cleaned out the garage, cooked and cleaned out closets- what a guy! I think we're both a little nervous, its always a big change adding another person to the family.. Hunting season wraps up in a few days (Big sigh of relief), and then we get to have two of Dave's brothers here for Thanksgiving...
The kids are very excited to have Grandpa and Grandma Hughes and Nana Bodine watch them while we're at the hospital... i think they feel really special too!
So, just a little update, i hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! I'll leave you with a couple pictures of the finished product of Ben's train table...Dave glued his Brio Train set to a piece of plywood that fits on top, so the kids can play without breaking it- it is providing hours of entertainment!
