There are no words..

Ben came into the room holding a frying pan. He told me to hold it out so he could run full speed into it to see if it leaves a face print. Yeah, Tom and Jerry is now officially banned at our house...

Did I mention we have chickens?

Well, we do...and we love em... Never in my whole entire life did I imagine I would want to own chickens, and if it wasn't for my wonderful animal loving husband-I wouldn't. But, the kids love them, and two eggs a day ain't bad either. Dave figures 2 years of not buying eggs and we'll make our money back on the chicken coop! Haha..

High heels and drama

It's no secret that Emma and I sometimes disagree on clothing choices. The other night she had a meltdown- I wouldn't let her wear high heels with athletic socks (apparently this made it ok to wear for PE-ha!). I took a deep breath and said, "What needs to happen right now?". She choked back the tears long enough to say, "Do I need to take a couple chill pills?" The girl does listen to me...

Crazy lady

One of the easiest ways to get my kids to laugh really hard: Driving aimlessly around the neighborhood pretending I don't have a clue where we live. I'm wondering 2 things: when will this cease to be funny? and how many neighbors think I've lost my mind?

First day of school 2011

1st day of school!! This momma is VERY happy. The last 2 weeks have consisted of utter boredom (not me, the kids), constant fighting and lots of whining. It was time to get back in the routine. Drop-offs went as expected. Emma was nervous and Ben was fearless....pretty typical. It's gonna be an exciting year for them, and for the first time in years, I am sitting here typing in the middle of the day and it is QUIET! Maybe I'll actually get some stuff done :) Here are the kids heading out this morning....

Mr. Independent

Emma: "Mom, can you walk me to my classroom tommorrow and make sure I put everything in the right place?" Me: "Yep, I'm on it." Ben: "Don't walk me into school. I can find my own way."
